CPR & AED: Heartsaver™ CPR/AED by American Heart Association Instructors gives individuals such as Daycare Providers, Parents, Teachers, Coaches, or any other layperson the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. This American Heart Association course is approximately 2-3 hours in length and certifies individuals in CPR/AED for adults, children and infants and is valid for two years.
BLS for Healthcare Providers: The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course is a higher level CPR class that is designed to train healthcare professionals (such as Nurses, Doctors, Firefighters, EMTs, Hospital/Clinic personnel, Dental Workers, or anyone interested in the healthcare field) on recognizing and responding to several life-threatening emergencies and use of airway adjuncts. Nearly all Healthcare workers are required to have at least this BLS class. Skills include: Providing CPR for adults, children and infants, using an Automated External Defibrillator and relieving choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals. Duration: 4 Hours
NOTE: "AED" or automated external defibrillator, is a machine used by responders to deliver an electrical shock to the heart when there is a cardiac emergency. When used with CPR, AEDs greatly increase the chance of survival from heart related emergencies. AED certification and training is included in all of our CPR courses.
Basic First Aid:First Aid covers any emergency that does not require the use of CPR. Topics covered in this American Heart Association course include: Recognition and treatment for heart attacks, stroke, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions as well as first aid treatments to wounds, fractures, burns and other common injuries. Intended Audience: This class is designed for both Healthcare Professionals and Lay Responders alike. Anyone who wants or needs to learn how to respond to an emergency should take this course.
Basic First Aid and CPR/AED can be combined into one course for groups.
Bloodborne Pathogens: This course teaches you the basics of Universal Precautions and dealing with bloodborne pathogens, cleaning and disinfecting.
